LGBTQIA+ Allyship & Pronouns Training: Free Sessions for All
Storied Church is proud to partner with Transcend Alamance and Elon University’s Gender & LGBTQIA Center to offer two free training sessions, open to all members of the community. These sessions are designed to help you become a more supportive and informed ally to LGBTQIA+ youth, family, friends, colleagues, and beyond.
Childcare will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Session 1: LGBTQIA+ Allyship 101 - March 09 @ 5p

What to Expect: In this session, you’ll gain knowledge about LGBTQIA identities, pronouns, inclusive language, and essential resources. Facilitators will guide activities and discussions, using your current knowledge to build on new, relevant information. This session is appropriate for individuals with any level of experience in LGBTQIA topics.

Who Should Attend: Whether you’re a parent, teacher, community service worker, volunteer, pastor, church member or just want to learn more, this session is for you!
Session 2: Pronouns & Gender - April 06 @ 5p

What to Expect: This discussion-based session will explore how to affirm youth, family, friends, and colleagues of all genders. We’ll address strategies for using inclusive language and handling common scenarios related to pronouns, gender inclusion, and cisnormativity. You’ll leave with tools to promote gender equity and inclusion in everyday interactions.

Anyone interested in understanding the importance of using pronouns correctly and supporting gender inclusion is welcome.
