Spiritual Practices | Lent | WEEK 2

Alright! Week 2! If you didn't participate in Week 1! No worries! Today is your starting line!


Quick caveat for these practices below. First, you can do all of them, some of them, or one of them! And next, if you find a practice that you really love... continue doing that practice throughout Lent.


Rather than spending Lent with a singular practice or not giving something up, we are intentionally experimenting together. And in hopes that we might discover practices that might be life-giving and other parts of our lives that we live with less.

WEEK 2 PRACTICES

GIVE UP: Television, videos, and reels for a week. (This one might be challenging... so you could make it easier by giving up television/videos/reels for a couple of days, etc.)


ADD: Mindfulness practice: We invite you to check out a mindfulness practice of a compassionate body scan. You can find the practice and read more here. Stake out a moment in your day where you can put the earphones in and go through this practice.


ADD: Try out journaling each day. Here are some prompts for journaling each day.

  1. What gave you joy and laughter today?

  2. What did you learn about yourself today?

  3. How did you feel today?

  4. Name five things you are thankful for on this day.
