Welcome to week 4 of our Lenten Spiritual practices!
Just some reminders for the journey. If you have found a life-giving practice over the past couple of weeks, I would encourage you to stay with it. And maybe take a pass on these practices for now. Or if you are looking to try out a new practice, here are a couple that you might incorporate in your Lenten practices.
Week 4 Spiritual Practices:
Try giving up eating out for a week. Maybe you buy your lunch every day. Try packing a lunch for the week.
Instead of eating out, call up a friend for a walk, a hike, or some coffee.
Incorporate the Metta Prayer/Loving Kindness Prayer:
May (I/you/all beings) be safe and protected, free from inner and outer harm.
May (I/you/all) be happy.
May (my/your/everyone’s) body support the practice of loving awareness.
May (I/you/all) be free from ill-will, affliction, and anxiety.
May (I/you/everyone) love (myself/yourself/themselves) as (I am/you are/they are).
May (I/you/all) be happy and free from suffering.
May (I/you/all) find peace in an uncertain world.
May (I/you/all) find ease on the middle path between attachment and apathy.
Pray this prayer for yourself, for those you are in community with, and for those you find difficult and challenging to be in relationship with or have caused you and others harm.
